SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit held a special family walk and health fair Saturday, September 11.

It took place at Lawrence Tech in Southfield. Onsite registration began at 8:00 a.m. with a special welcome ceremony at 8:45 a.m.

WXYZ-TV is proud to be one of the sponsors of the event.

Gilda's Club is a nationwide organization that helps support both cancer patients and their families as they deal with the devastating disease. It is named for Gilda Radner, a native Detroiter and original cast member of Saturday Night Live who died of ovarian cancer in 1989.
