The Avengers voted most overrated 2012 movie

THE AVENGERS has been voted the most overrated movie of 2012 in a new Los Angeles Times poll.

Joss Whedon’s star-studded action blockbuster was the highest-grossing film globally last year (12), but film fans in L.A. were far from impressed.

The movie grabbed 85 per cent of the votes to 'win' the contest by a landslide. Ridley Scott’s Prometheus comes in second place with five per cent.

In a related survey, Times readers voted Jack Black's movie Bernie the most underappreciated film of 2012.
