(WXYZ) - The documentary on Detroit firefighters BURN has been invited to be shown at the Traverse City Film Festival.

The movie will be shown at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in private, members-only screenings. However, there are also a limited number for free tickets being made available to members of the Detroit Fire Department.

The filmmakers behind BURN are attempting to raise money so that they can release the movie publicly. As part of their fundraising drive they are scheduling fundraising screenings around the country.

The next scheduled series of fundraising screenings are in Philadelphia on July 24 at 25. Two screenings are being held each day, one at 6:00 p.m. and the other at 8:30 p.m. You can get tickets to the screenings online .

Filmed in Detroit, BURN has already been attracting national attention, winning the Heineken Audience Award for Feature Documentaries at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.
