(WXYZ) - The Michigan Film Office announced today that Ryan Gosling's directorial debut How to Catch a Monster has been almost $1.8 million in tax incentives.
The movie is scheduled to film around metro Detroit in the spring. Gosling has been spotted around the area in recent days scouting locations.
How to Catch a Monster is a modern-fantasy drama that will star Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, Atonement's Saoirse Ronan, Hitch's Eva Mendes and Doctor Who's Matt Smith.
The project is expected to employ about 104 Michigan workers in the equivalent of 30 full time jobs.
