Friday the 13th will be a lucky day for moviegoers with three new films hitting theaters.

They include the a film that represents almost every action movie of the last 30 years, one based on a popular independent comic about a guy dealing with his girlfriend's exes, and the latest from Julia Roberts based on a memoir about a woman's trip around the world.

Here's what's new in theaters.

The Expendables

The Expendables could be called the dream action movie of the 1980s, with Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis all appearing in some capacity. It's about a team of mercenaries who are hired to take down a South American dictator but soon find out not everything is as it appears.

Jason Statham, Jet Li, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Charisma Carpenter also appear. Stallone also directed the movie and helped write the screenplay.  This is the first time he's written and directed a movie since 2008's Rambo.

The Expendables is rated R and runs 1 hour 43 minutes.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Slacker musician Scott Pilgrim battles his girlfriend Ramona Flowers' seven evil ex-boyfriends in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The movie is based on the popular Scott Pilgrim independent comic books.

Arrested Development and Youth in Revolt star Michael Cera plays Scott Pilgrim, while Live Free or Die Hard and Sky High actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead is Ramona. Kieran Culkin, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh and Jason Schwartzman also appear.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour 53 minutes.

Eat, Pray, Love

Eat, Pray, Love is Julia Roberts' first starring role since last year's Duplicity. It's based on Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 memoir about what she discovered during the trip she took around the world after her divorce. Roberts plays Gilbert.

Viola Davis, Billy Crudup and James Franco also star in the movie. Eat, Pray, Love is directed by Ryan Murphy, one of the creators and executive producers behind the TV megahit Glee.
