Farmington Hills, MIch. (WXYZ) - A family of foxes has moved in and made a home for themselves on a block in Farmington Hills. Neighbors say the foxes are interesting to watch, but are worried about the safety of the animals and the safety of residents on the block.
There are two adults and seven kits living in a foxhole in the front lawn of a home on Caryn Street in Farmington Hills.
Some neighbors are growing concerned that the animals could bite someone, attack pets or even get hit by a car. One of the foxes became sick and was taken to Howell Nature center where it later died. Neighbors say tests are being done, but are concerned any possible disease that the animals may carry.
Residents have contacted the City of Farmington Hills and the DNR, but haven't received any help. After calling a trapper, neighbors learned the foxes would likely be put down, which they don't want to see happen to the animals.
Some neighbors say they just want the animals to be taken to a place where they will be safe.
The neighborhood is a busy area, and the foxes have been seen in the middle of the street at times.
