(WXYZ) Rochester, Mich. - RM Auctions , the world largest auction house is hosting the Vintage Motors of Meadow Brook this weekend on the campus of Oakland University. This is the sixteenth year for the auction which is held in conjunction with the Concours d'Elegance of America .
The auction is an oasis of fun for classic car lovers. Ian Kelleher of RM Auctions says that despite the tough economy people come from all over the United States to buy cars dating back to the early 1900's. They are also ready in most cases to spend big money. For example, at this weekends auction, some cars will sell at nearly one million dollars! Sometimes, cars are sold for much more! "Sometimes people pay as much as ten million dollars for classic cars," said Kelleher. He compares classic cars to jewelry and beauty and worth is an individual thing.
Kelleher also encourages people to come out and enjoy the auction whether they are looking to purchase a vehicle or not. He is also expecting another solid auction.
