WXYZ - Pleasant Ridge - Right now police are looking for the man whose actions led to a chase involving three law enforcement agencies and a school lockdown.

It happened Friday morning.

Sources tell Action News a Pleasant Ridge patrol officer spotted a suspicious man in a backyard. It appeared the man was going to break into the home.

The officer approached the man and asked for his identification.  The man then gave him his license, before suddenly running.  Police gave chase.

This all happened about three blocks north of Roosevelt Primary School in Ferndale.   Since the man ran in the direction of the elementary school, the school was put on lockdown.

Sources tell Action News police tracked the man’s cell phone signal, and learned he was no longer near the school.  As a result, the lockdown was lifted.

Police say the suspect is 18-years-old, and they have reason to believe he will turn himself in.
