(WXYZ-Detroit) - Did the White House leak national security secrets that make President Barack Obama look good?

That is the claim of some Republicans.

The president addressed the issue at a press conference on Friday.  He called the allegations offensive.

“It's wrong and people, I think, need to have a better sense of how I approach this office and how the people around me here approach this office," said President Obama.

The president said he is committed to finding out who leaked the confidential U.S. intelligence.

A short time later it was announced that two U.S. attorneys have been assigned to carry out independent investigations into the leaks.

The leaks resulted in news reports on a secret U.S. cyberattack on Iran’s nuclear program, a double-agent who helped foil an attack, and the secret terrorist kill list the president allegedly maintains.

"They're intentionally leaking information to enhance President

Obama's image as a tough guy for the elections," Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona said after taking to the Senate floor earlier in the week to list some of the alleged breaches. "That is unconscionable."
