Detroit (WXYZ) - The old English “D” seemed to stand for disappointment for fans after the Tigers lost to the Giants Wednesday night.

As we prepare in the Motor City for game two, it is important to remember the “D” stands for Detroit, the “comeback city”.

After all, It is often said that history repeats itself.

The Tigers can hope that this World Series plays out similar to those in 1935, 1945, and 1968.  In 1935 and 1945 the Tigers lost the first game in the series to the Cubs, and in 1968 they lost the first game to the Cardinals.  Despite the less than stellar start, in the end the Tigers won the World Series in those years.

Go Tigers!
