DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - Three young children, their father and their grandfather were hit by a pickup truck while waiting to cross Telegraph Road in Dearborn Tuesday night.
Dearborn police say the accident unfolded when the pickup truck collided with an SUV that police say ran a red light.
Pat Mulken, the children’s grandfather says they were on their bikes, waiting in the median to cross the street to get slurpies, and in an instant they were all under the truck.
The family suffered some cuts and bruises, and some possibile broken bones but it appears that everyone will be ok.
The driver of the SUV will likely get a ticket.
A local mom and teen who drove by the crash say they will raise money to help replace the children’s bikes.
