The year has practically just begun, symbolizing a time for change and growth. It's a fresh start.
While most of us consider making internal changes this time of year, sometimes an external change is in order.
Style expert Devy Walker shares five tips to breaking out of your style rut for a fashionable new you in the new year!
1. Have fun... Be yourself. It is amazing how we hold ourselves back from trying new looks and styles. This year just give it a try! If you see an outfit on a mannequin you like, TRY IT ON! You might just like it.
2. Buy yourself something sexy. Try a pretty camisole, wear it as a layering piece under a jacket or cardigan.
3. Expand your style and comfort zone. Stop dressing the same way all the time! You may need professional help for this. A style consultant like Devy Walker at About Face or a very courageous girlfriend to coach you.
4. Get dressed up for no reason. Your friends and family will be amazed! At some point you became predictable and you gave up your best weapon, the element of surprise.
5. Invest in color. Color is the most influential component you can add to your wardrobe and makeup. It singlehandedly brightens your wardrobe and makes you look younger! If you haven't updated your make-up in the last two years it is time!
