Dental health is a team enterprise with one collective goal - nurturing your teeth, mouth and gums to simply be the best they can be. Maybe you've overlooked your dental health a little to long, or maybe past experience has left you with apprehension when it comes to dental care. Dental technology has come a long way from what you might remember. Welcome to comfortable dentistry....Really!

1. Am I a good candidate for dental implants?

Anyone with one or more missing teeth is a candidate for implants. Dr. Wesley's youngest implant patient was 16 when the implant was placed and his oldest patient was 93. Implants can also be used to secure new or existing dentures. A full evaluation will be completed to determine the correct treatment for you.

2. Are implants expensive?

Dental implants may cost more initially, but less over a lifetime.

3. Why is a dental implant the best replacement for a missing tooth?

The titanium implant takes the place of the root of your tooth, it integrates with your bone and becomes a part of you. Your new tooth will look, feel and function like your natural tooth. Studies have shown that implant crowns rarely need replacing while traditional crowns, bridges and dentures are often replaced several times. Replacing one tooth with a dental implant often prevents grinding down two healthy teeth to fabricate a bridge, and it costs about the same.

4. Do implants hurt?

Some discomfort is normal immediately following the procedure, but most patients experience minimal pain. Pain medication will be prescribed as needed and an antibiotic is given as a preventitive measure.

5. Will I ever have to go without teeth?

Giving our patient's teeth immediately following surgery is a priority. Our In-house lab enables us to provide temporary teeth the same day the implant is placed. With more than 23 years of experience in all aspects of dental implant treatment, Dr. Wesley is well ahead of his peers in providing temporary implant teeth.
