DETROIT (WXYZ) - The North American International Auto Show is now open to the public.

7 Action News has all the information you need to know, before heading down to Cobo Center, including ticket information  and  a map of the show floor . We've also got photo galleries of some of our favorite cars and highlights from last night's charity preview .

Thousands of journalists from around the world checked out the new technology and designs being produced by the auto industry last week.

Friday evening about 13,000 people took part in the Red Carpet Charity Preview Gala at Cobo Center.  They donated almost  $4 million dollars to area children’s charities while taking part in the event.

Now through Sunday, January 27, 2012 the public will get a chance to check out everything the auto world has to offer.  The show opens at 9 a.m. and tickets are $12.

There will also be many educational exhibits for families to enjoy.  Kids will love the virtual reality games where, the Hot Wheels Slot Car exhibit, and the historic automotive displays.

Make sure you snap pictures while you're there, and send them to us ! We may even use them on the air.
