GM CEO to auction 1958 Corvette for charity

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Today, GM Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson announced that he will auction off his mint condition 1958 Corvette for charity. The turquoise corvette will be auctioned in January and the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity, for the Morningside Commons development on Detroit's east side.
Corvette classics, like Akerson's, will shine at the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend.
Gary Halverson and his dad cruise every year. Clifford Halverson is 94 year old and says "Cars are my middle name".
Clifford says "I've had 22 new ones and 100 used ones."
Gary Halverson drives a '63 Corvette, just like the one he had when he turned 16. "I had my license about 6 hours and got a ticket for drag racing. I lost my license for 6 months."
Judy Sarkis has a '56 Corvette. It has been in the family for 47 years. I call it my husband's first wife.
