New Zealand couple comes to metro area to drive in Dream Cruise

(WXYZ) - The Woodward Dream Cruise is known world-wide as the largest automotive event.

This year, Murray and Val Toms traveled all the way from New Zealand to be a part of it. The Toms are buying a 1937 Plymouth from Classic Auto showplace in Troy. They plan to drive it in the cruise and then drive it to California and ship it home.

Murray toms says  "I have always loved cars and there is so much automotive history here." Val says "The people are so nice. they just come up and start talking to us."

Last year, the couple bought a 1914 Dodge and took it back to New Zealand.

They have already convinced some friends, from New Zealand,  to come to the Metro area for the Dream Cruise next year.
