The Big Dream Cruise Secret: Be a part of our flash mob!

(WXYZ) - Have you always wanted to be a part of the Dream Cruise, but don’t own a classic car? Here’s your chance to get involved in a fun new way. We’re doing a flash mob and we want you to participate!

What's a flash mob? It's a dance performed by a large group of people in a public place that appears suddenly, taking onlookers by surprise. The secret is that the dance has been choreographed and rehearsed ahead of time. Check out the T-mobile advertisement in the video player below as an example.

The flash mob will be performed as a surprise during Channel 7’s live Woodward Dream Cruise special airing, Saturday August 20 from 7-9 p.m.

It’s happening rain or shine in downtown Pontiac in front of the Phoenix Center Parking garage where Water Street meets Saginaw Street.

Vic Faust, Alicia Smith and Erin Nicole from Action News this Morning will be broadcasting live during the show and will also be there to lead the flash mob.

We’re inviting you and your friends and family to participate in the flash mob to surprise thousands of spectators at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

To be a part of the live broadcast you should be in Pontiac no later than 7:30 p.m. on August 20.

Flash mob rehearsal :
We will hold one rehearsal to go over the flash mob dance as a group. It will be held Saturday, August 13 at 10 a.m. in the same location where we will perform the dance during the Dream Cruise Show. That’s in downtown Pontiac, just north of the Phoenix Center parking garage where Water Street meets Saginaw Street. We will practice rain or shine. If you can’t make the practice don’t forget to join us for the show. As long as you know the dance you can join in the flash mob. It’s going to be a blast!
