ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Heavy storms came through Royal Oak around 5 p.m. Saturday, knocking down power lines and sparking fires.
At least two downed lines led officials from the Woodward Dream Cruise and the city of Royal Oak to call off the cruise, though weather improved and Woodward Avenue was gradually reopened to traffic.
Matt Jonik was nearby as one power line fell and began to spark and explode. He shot this video with an iPhone and brought it to our Channel 7 stage, just south of Normandy.
