DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - Ford is holding a large hiring event online as the automaker plans to grow by another 3,000 employees.
That's 800 more than expected and the largest by the company since 2000.
The Blue Oval announcing that about 80% of the will be technical professional - mostly working in Michigan, but some openings are throughout the US.
Ford is using a social media campaign titled “The Distance Between You and an Amazing Career Has Never Been Shorter” to target prospective employees.
It will target job candidates on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as through the corporate careers website.
Ford will also increase recruiting on college campuses.
This is part of Ford's push to create 12,000 new hourly jobs in the US by 2015.
