(WXYZ) - The Chevrolet Camaro has surpassed all expectations since it was re-introduced in 2009. Buyers have been clamoring for a Z28 high performance version. Chevrolet offered a Z28 version in nearly every year that it offered the Camaro. General Motors won't confirm details but insiders say that a high performance Z28 would run with between five and six hundred horsepower.
The Camaro convertibles will hit the streets in February. The Z28 would build on that momentum. The convertible version is in such high demand that the first 100 offered in the Neiman Marcus catalogue sold in just three minutes.
The Z28 will more than likely debut in late 2011 as a 2012 model.
