DETROIT (WXYZ) - Ed Whitacre sits down with Jeff Vaughn to discuss the new book about his experiences at General Motors and AT&T. The new book is called, 'American Turnaround: Reinventing AT&T and GM and the Way We Do Business in the USA.'
Whitacre says both companies were in similar situations when he was brought in. Both were large and unionized. He says both were also filled with good people.
Ed Whitacre says he drove General Motors vehicles throughout his whole adult life. Today, he says he drives a Cadillac CTS-V. "I think GM builds the best cars," Whitacre said.
