(WXYZ) - As you know, our Call For Action team helps people with all kinds of consumer issues. Their latest effort was able to provide some peace for a retired Plymouth couple.
Norman and Tina Fasecas are enjoying retirement life taking care of their dog Winston. However, they were not so happy when they spent thousands of dollars on a new gas fireplace that did not work.
Norman says, "We tuned it on and the fireplace didn't work."
They told Town and Country Hardware, the company where they purchased it, about the issue and they sent a tech to the house to check things out. After a few months of examinations and repairs, the company realized that Norman was given the wrong unit, which was mislabeled by the manufacturer, Napoleon.
They decided to give the Fasecas's a new unit, but there was still an issue. Someone needed to pay for the install and Norman didn't think it should be him.
Town and Country didn't think he should pay for it either. They wanted Napoleon to pay for the install, but it never happened until Norman called our CFA team.
"No question, it was my call to Call For Action which got this done," says Norman.
Once Napoleon agreed to pay for the $2300 install, Town and Country sent a worker to Norman's house to take care of it. Even though it took almost a year to take care of the complete issue, the Fasecas's are happy and enjoying their new fireplace.
