(WXYZ) - He has been described as a “beautiful bolt of lightning.”

As a member of The Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter won himself millions of adoring fans with songs like “Everybody.”

30-year-old Sarah Cheek of Detroit was one of those thunderstruck by the famous pop singer.

”I like his music, the words mean so much to me and he’s gorgeous, so gorgeous,” Sarah says, beaming her brilliant smile.

But there is nothing gorgeous or fair about what Sarah and her husband Kevin are going through right now.  You see, on March 31st of last year Sarah was diagnosed with fourth-stage breast cancer.

Now Sarah’s days are filled with doctors’ appointments, with radiation and chemo-therapy treatments. So her loving husband Kevin decided to give her the ultimate gift.

Kevin set out to get tickets to the Nick Carter Concert in Pontiac and a one-on-one meeting with Nick himself. The only problem was, he didn’t know how to do that.

That’s when Kevin called WXYZ-TV and the Call for Action team and within a few hours we made it happen.

Now, Sarah is fast looking forward to Nick’s big concert on February 10th. She still can’t believe she’s going to be shaking his hand.  Maybe she’ll share a dance with the heartthrob singer.  Either way, Sarah is unbelievably grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

“I don’t think there are words to explain just how grateful I am to you Bill.  I know I’m sick, but I also know I don’t deserve this gift.  I will never be able to thank you enough,” Sarah says with tears streaming down her face.
