(WXYZ) - Can you imagine, going to bed every night with literally thousands of bed bugs crawling all over your house and all over you?
Forty-seven-year-old Darren Hill doesn’t have to imagine it, he lived that nightmare for more than six months. But living on social security disability, and unable to find a job, Darren couldn’t afford to hire an exterminator, so he just had to live with it.
That’s when Darren called the Call for Action team for help.
Right away, we called-in the bed bug-killing-experts at Eradico Services in Novi.
Eradico heated Darren’s home to more than 120 degrees, roasting those insect vampires to death.
Total cost of the job would have run about $4000.00 but Eradico agreed to do it for Darren absolutely free to end the misery he had been living in.
And, do you remember the Miracle Field in Southfield? It’s home to more than 300-special needs athletes. It is the place where some of Michigan’s most severely physically challenged children get to play baseball, just like any ordinary kid.
Last year, a group of vandals defaced this special place with ugly words of graffiti.
But just last week, workmen cut out and replaced the damaged portions of that field - all thanks to the tens of thousands of dollars we at the Call for Action team helped raise to erase this ugly crime.
All of which, means as of tonight may 24, 2012, the hardworking, Call for Action team has answered a total of 2,084 calls for help. Even more importantly, the CFA Team has recovered and returned a whopping $181, 795.00 for our Channel 7 viewers wise enough to call for action.
Remember if you need help, call for action at 248-827-3362.
