TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - Just like Santa Claus and his merry band of elves, Michelle Zarghami and the folks at Real Estate One in Troy are taking inventory, packing-up and getting ready to hand deliver a Christmas like no other, for a family that just last week lost everything they own in a monster house fire.
Now Channel 7’s Call for Action team and Real Estate One are about to blow Shannon Sandburg, her husband Brian and all 6 of their children away.
You see, exactly 14-days ago the Sandburg’s lost their Redford home and everything in it.
That’s when a good friend of the family’s called us and now we are giving this family of eight a ton of brand new clothing, pajamas and bedtime clothes for the kids, as well as food, decorations and furnishings for the house and, last but not least, a mountain of Christmas presents, all wrapped up and hidden under the tree.
“Oh my God, it’s so pretty. It’s a wood carved figurine for the fireplace,” Shannon says with a huge smile breaking across her face.
For Shannon, It’s decorations for the house.
For 16-year-old Timothy, the oldest boy in the family, it’s the thrill of an extreme wresting sweatshirt.
For the younger boys, Adam, who’s 6 and for Kenny who’s 8, it’s Rockem Sockem Robots to play with.
And for giggly, girly, 10-year old Bethany May, it’s a fabulous pink velour sweat suit by Juicy, as well as a matching pink t-shirt that describes her and this entire family perfectly.
The shirt says simply, “I don’t stop, I don’t give up.”
And this is one close-knit family that has really learned the value of never giving up.
We at Channel 7 want to say thank you to everyone who made this give-a-way possible for the Sandburg’s.
We want to thank Real Estate One Troy, Michelle Zarghami and her husband Mathew, PODS, the Courtyard by Marriott in Livonia, the Lighthouse and all the stores that donated gift cards for this very special family.
