(WXYZ) - The Call for Action team continues to get results for people in our area.
All it takes is a call or email to our team explaining what your consumer issue is and the process is started. This is all for people in our community who have been wrongly charged and or not treated fairly in a variety of consumer situations.
In the past six months the group has recovered almost $225,000 and just under $300,000 for the year.
The twenty-five volunteers have already taken 3,000 calls this year along with reading well over 700 emails.
Sometimes it might take a few months to get action but if your case shows that you have been mistreated, they will "go-to-bat" for you!
Recent successes have include everything from taking care of deeds with our local counties, recovering stolen financial aid for a mother who adopted five girls, hospital bills that should have never been sent to patients, finding and replacing sentimental family heirlooms that had been lost and lots of warranties with companies that were not being honored.
In July, just under $80,000 was recovered by the group led by our director Evelyn Stern.
