(WXYZ) - Thinking of a trip to Disney World or Universal this summer? Well, you better save up even more money then usual.

More Attractions

The thrills keep getting better and better. Both parks are expanding with new rides and movie themed attractions. But now the downside: it's going to cost you more than ever to enjoy them.

Ticket Prices Rising

Disney world just raised its one day ticket price to $89, that’s up from $82 a year ago. The price hike came less than a week after universal raised its basic ticket to $88.

And at both Disney and Universal, a child's ticket is just 6 bucks less than mom or dads ticket. And keep in mind… Your 10 year old isn’t considered a child. No, kids must be under 10 to get the children’s price. (Kids under 3 are free)

How to Save

So how do you save? Well, by spending more. The key is to purchase multi day packages: for example buying a 4 day pass to Disney costs $256… that’s $00 dollars off the daily rate. You get even greater savings with multi-day passes at Universal…

Also don't forget to check for military discounts, and Triple A or AARP discounts. That way you enjoy the new rides for less and you dont waste your money.
