(WXYZ) - Over 1.7 million pounds of breakfast meat are being recalled because of labeling that doesn't properly represent a potential ingredient - MSG.
BEF Foods Inc. is recalling approximately 1,768,600 pounds of Bob Evans Maple Links and Maple Patties because they are misbranded. The products may contain MSG which is not declared on the label.
According to the USDA, MSG is not classified as an allergen, but can cause a reaction in people with a sensitivity to the ingredient.
The recalled products were produced in Hillsdale, MI and Xenia, OH.
