Consumers refunded after 10 LCD screen manufacturers involved in price-fixing

LANSING, Mich. - Michigan residents and businesses could receive payments from a price-fixing settlement involving liquid crystal display screens.

State Attorney General Bill Schuette said Tuesday in a release that a billion-dollar fund was created over an illegal conspiracy by 10 manufacturers to raise prices of flat panels used in TVs, monitors and laptop computers.

Claims for cash payments for $25, $100, $200 or more can be made for products purchased from 1999 to 2006. The payment amount is determined by the number of products bought.

Consumers are eligible if they lived in Michigan or 23 other states at the time the products were purchased.

Dec. 6 is the deadline to file claims.
