ROSEVILLE, MICH (WXYZ) - Roseville Police are searching for two men wanted in a jewelry store robbery.

Around 7 o'clock Tuesday night a man went into the Gianinis Jewelry store at 28784 Gratiot and wanted to take a closer look at a 2 carat gold and diamond ring valued at $16,500.

The man put the ring on his finger and ran out of the store.

The owner of the store chased after him and once in the parking lot yelled for him to stop. The man stopped, turned, and reaching behind appeared to the store owner to be going for a gun. The store owner, also armed, fired at the suspect who continued to run way and jumped into a waiting black Pontiac Bonneville driven by another man.

As the car drove away, the store owner continued to shoot at the suspects and they crashed into a concrete sign stanchion causing significant damage to the car. The men then got out and ran on foot.

Police found the car not too far away in another parking lot and began searching the area with  K-9.

Police know who one of the suspects is based on evidence found in the car and at the scene.  He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, 5'7", about 170 pounds.
