PITTSFIELD TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) - Pittsfield Township Police say the search for a missing 19-year-old from Trenton has come to a tragic conclusion.

Officers say the body of Nathan Tracy was found in a retention pond Saturday morning at around 10:30 a.m.

The body had apparently been in the water for several days. An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday.

Tracy's family made a passionate plea for him to call home after he went missing following car wreck.

Police say Tracy went through a carport, hit a pickup truck and tore up the front of his red Ford Focus Thursday night. He then walked away from the accident.

The disappearance led to a large search by Pittsfield police for the missing Trenton man. Officers say Tracy's body was found outside the search grid.

The investigation is ongoing.
