ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The University of Michigan Department of Public Safety is asking students to be on alert after several woman have came forward in recent days, claiming they were grabbed inappropriately.

The department of public safety issued a crime alert on Monday, after a woman told the Ann Arbor police a man jumped behind her near Hill Street and grabbed her chest and crotch. She screamed and the man fled the scene.

She described the man as an Asian male around 20 years old and wearing a baseball cap.

After the crime alert was issued, two other women came forward to report groping incidents.

One of the students said she was walking in the Ruthven Museum in Ann Arbor on August 31 when she was approached by a man who talked to her in Chinese and limited English. Then, she said, the man rubbed her elbow and grabbed her buttocks.

On September 1, a woman reported she was also inappropriately grabbed at the Michigan Stadium football game viewing. She described him as an Asian male with muscular build and a buzzed haircut. He was wearing pink shorts and blue sunglasses.

At this time, police say they do not think they have a serial groper roaming around campus and that the incidents are likely separate.

If you have any information regarding the incidents, or you would like to report an incident, contact the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety at (734) 763-1131 or the Ann Arbor Police Department tip line at (734) 794-6939 or email tips@a2gov.org .
