WIXOM, Mich. (WXYZ) - Wixom Police and the Ingham County Sheriff's Department confirm that the number of random shootings is now up to at least 15.

LATEST UPDATES:
 - Multiple law enforcement agencies join forces to track down suspect in random I-96 vehicle shootings

 - AUDIO: 911 call from woman whose car was shot on I-96

Police say at least eight moving vehicles were shot at Thursday afternoon along Wixom Road near Pontiac Trial. One man was reportedly shot at while taking out his trash.

Ingham County Sheriff John Wrigglesworth tells 7 Action News the car involved in their incident is a dark colored Chevy Cavalier with a white male lone driver. The gun used may be a semi automatic handgun.

Wixom Police Chief Clarence Godlein says they only have a vague description, but it is similar, sports car.  His victims did not get a good look at the car or who was inside.

One incident has also been reported in Livingston County between Detroit and Lansing.  All of the incidents have been on or near I-96 and because of that the Sheriff believes all shootings may be connected.

Nobody has been injured but the shots have been close.

Wixom police tell 7 Action News that most of the vehicles were hit low, but one driver says the bottom part of his seat was hit.

Police say there were no injuries, and they have recovered three of the bullets.

Police say they are extremely concerned about these incidents, and ask anyone who may have information to come forward.
