Justin Bieber fans use apparent self-harm, Twitter hashtag #CutForBieber as ultimatum

(WXYZ) - The 7 Action News Team has learned of a disturbing story, which could be related to your kids.

A hashtag has been trending on Twitter apparently encouraging Justin Bieber fans to commit self-harm by cutting. The trend appears to be an ultimatum for the star after he was caught on camera holding what looked like a marijuana blunt last week.

It's believed Bieber fans are committing the acts of self-mutilation to get the star to stop smoking. 

The hashtag  #cutforbieber is now trending worldwide.

Many are interpreting the message to say, "We'll stop cutting, when you [Bieber] stop smoking."

Despite the seriousness of the matter, many Twitter users have been tweeting fake cutting pictures to poke fun at the issue.

Miley Cyrus weighed in on her Twitter account by retweeting this message:

"Cutting is NOT something to joke about. There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful."
