DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Canada Border Services Agency announced border services officers seized firearms and magazines at the Ambassador Bridge.
On April 21, an Ontario woman was referred for secondary examination at the Ambassador Bridge. Officers discovered three undeclared, loaded 9mm prohibited pistols and two prohibited high capacity magazines in her vehicle.
The Canada Border Services Agency Criminal Investigations charged her with smuggling, possession of unlawfully imported goods and making false statements. Windsor Police Services also charged the woman.
All travelers are required to answer all questions truthfully and declare all goods they are bringing to Canada. Failure to declare goods and other attempts to violate the Customs Act could result in prosecution.
