(WXYZ) - Cedar Point is honoring veterans and military personnel over the Memorial Day weekend with free admission.
Active duty personnel and veterans will need to show valid military identification in order to qualify. Military families can also purchase tickets at the park for $39.99.
The park is also participating in the Coast Guards Go Carts: Guardsmen Carting Across the States program. The group will race carts from California back to the base in Virginia.
The guardsmen will stop by Cedar Point on their journey back to U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown, Virginia.
The Coasts Guard's goal is to raise $50,000 for men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The park also announced that it will open the Soak City Waterpark on Saturday, May 25.
The park is also hosting the “Picnic at the Point” this holiday weekend. It's a buffet meal from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Coral Courtyard on Sunday and Monday. Tickets for this event are already available.
