(WXYZ) - Bernie Pyne has lost half of his family.

His wife Ruth was beaten and stabbed to death in May of 2011.

His 23 year old son Jeff, who was the Valedictorian in High School is now serving 20 to 60 years in prison for the murder.  Bernie maintains his son did not do it.

He's sharing with 7 Action News the grounds for an appeal and a new trial. A juror who voted to convict Jeff of 2nd Degree Murder has had a major change of heart saying she regrets that verdict.  Can that make a difference?

The story from Jim Kiertzner only on 7 Action News Thursday at 11.
