(WXYZ) - In the snow and bitter cold, a fire at a townhome complex in Van Buren Township ripped through three homes. The flames tore through the units so quickly there was little fire fighters could do.
Patrice Blount is among those who lost their homes on Monday night at Parkwood Manor. As anyone could imagine the sight has her in shock.
"It's unbelievable, it's surreal," said Patrice.
When Van Buren Township firefighters received the call, they were on a training exercise. When they arrived on scene, they moved as quickly as they could to douse the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There were no injuries reported at this time, according to police.
Red Cross says their volunteers will be assisting the residents.
