LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - During a news conference Tuesday evening, Governor Rick Snyder told reporters he has signed Right to Work into law.

Thousands of protesters gathered at the Capitol building Tuesday in Lansing in protest of the legislation .

The controversial legislation limits the power of unions and has led to many heated debates.

Governor Rick Snyder had previously said he would sign both bills into law as soon as they arrived on his desk.
