HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - A new ladder truck for the Highland Park fire department is hitting the streets.
The truck is used but has fewer miles than the one it’s replacing. The old truck was purchased in 1995 with hundreds of thousands of miles.
The new truck will be reliable which gives firefighter’s confidence they will be able to do their jobs.
Just last week, they broke ground on their new firehouse. This will be a big change from the former 'warehouse turned fire station' that the fire department was using before.
The department also bought another rig back in May with money they earned through fundraisers.
