EAST LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - It's a college student's dream -- free laundry while going to school.

It's now becoming a reality for some students at Michigan State University.

The East Lansing school plans to give free laundry service to students living in dorms.

The service will be available in Snyder Hall and Phillips Hall this summer. The offer will be extended to other MSU halls by the fall semester.

Michigan State estimates each student spends an average of $90 a year on laundry.

The university says the move is one way for the school to compete with off-campus apartments.
