CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MICH (WXYZ) - A motorcycle accident late Friday night in Clinton Township has left a 48 year old man dead.
The cyclist was going northbound on Hayes Road at 11:16pm when a car that was about to make a left turn on southbound Hayes at 18 Mile Road apparently cut in front of the motorcycle and struck him.
The motorcyclist, from Shelby Township, died at Henry Ford Macomb hospital.
The 45 year old Clinton Township man in the other vehicle stopped at the scene but police believe alcohol may be a factor. He was arrested and will be charged with "Operating While Impaired Causing Death." Whether the motorcyclist was also under the influence of alcohol still must be determined.
It's unknown at this time if speed was also a factor.
The Clinton Township Police are continuing to investigate.
