(WXYZ) - We're expecting to learn Wednesday if the accused I-96 shooter is competent to stand trial.

The proceedings are scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. at the 53rd District Court in Howell.

Raulie Casteel is facing terrorism charges for a series of shootings along the freeway last year. Casteel is accused of opening fire on vehicles during a two-week period in October.

One person was hit when a bullet went through his driver's side door and into his hip. He was treated and released from the hospital.

If the 43-year-old is competent and found guilty, he faces up to life in prison.
