On September 11, 2001 ABC was coming to the end of Good Morning America when American Airlines Flight 11 slammed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. It was 8:46 a.m.
Four minutes later Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer alerted the country of crash and began network that would last for days.
