(WXYZ) - A local business walked away with $50,000 dollars tonight thanks to Hatch Detroit.
Hatch Detroit is a Michigan based 501-c-3 organization with a mission to support retail businesses in Detroit through funding contests.
Thursday night, with the help of Comerica Bank, four finalists including Batch Brewing Company, Cork-Town Cinema, HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters and Spielhaus Toys were in the running for the prize money.
The winner--Batch Brewing Company-- was featured on Detroit 20/20. The owner say he's trying to connect with people that like the idea of a small brewery in Detroit.
And while the economy is starting to rebound, this kind of money could jumpstart a new business.
Hatch Detroit was co-founded by two Detroit natives who are passionate about brining the city back and inspiring others to create change.
