(WYXZ) - The Belle Isle Aquarium is opening its doors again, for three days a month.
You can visit the aquarium starting in September. It will be open one Sunday a month and the first and third Saturdays of the month.
Mayor Dave Bing will host a ribbon cutting.
The Belle Isle Conservancy held fundraisers to raise money to help with the reopening. Volunteers and the Conservancy will operate the aquarium.
The aquarium has been closed since 2005. It dates all the way back to 1904 and features fish native to the Detroit area and the Great Lakes region.
