WESTLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) - Action News was the only Detroit TV station to witness the drama at the Hawthorne Golf Club in Westland as Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero crashed Rick Snyder's town hall meeting.

Bernero brought Snyder a letter, asking his Republican opponent to reconsider debating.  On Friday Snyder's campaign cut off debate negotiations after they delivered their final proposal to Bernero and he asked for two modifications.

Bernero waited in the lobby of the Hawthorne Club this evening and after some tense minutes Snyder emerged and invited Bernero into the town hall meeting.

The tenor of the session was very positive and both men remarked afterward that they have much in common.

Still, Snyder has not agreed to re-open talks over debates.  Right now none are scheduled.

Tell us what you think - should Bernero have showed up to Snyder's town hall?
