SANDUSKY, Ohio - Several passengers were injured when a ride at Cedar Point went off its tracks Friday night.
Cedar Point officials say the ride Shoot the Rapids malfunctioned, sending a boat full of passengers rolling back down the lift hill.
Cedar Point Police, EMS staff, ride operators and park guests responded immediately to get people out of the boat. All seven of the passengers were evaluated by the Cedar Point EMS staff and one was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center for their injuries.
Officials say they have shut down Shoot the Rapids for the time being and are currently investigating.
