(WXYZ) - A Detroit garbage truck operator and resident found a box of puppies in the trash on Monday.
The resident and truck operator were helping get garbage off of the curb when they heard whining coming from a box in the pile. They called the Detroit Dog Rescue who came out and took the three puppies into their care.
The Detroit Dog Rescue are calling the three the 'Sanford & Son' puppies, after an American sitcom.
They have been named Fred, Esther and Elizabeth.
We're told they are now recovering at a nearby medical boarding facility.
