(WXYZ) - Brownstown Township Police say the body of woman in her 40s was discovered in her home in Brownstown Township on Wednesday.

When the woman's daughter, who attends Eastern Michigan University, couldn't get in touch with her mother, she asked a friend to check on her, according to police.

Police say the friend found the mother dead in the bedroom. There were signs of a struggle and nothing to indicate a forced entry into the home, according to police.

Brownstown Township Police are investigating this case as a homicide.

Sources tell 7 Action News the woman is divorced, but does have a boyfriend.

Police say everyone is cooperating and that there are no persons of interest.

The woman works at a Detroit business and arrived home around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Police think the homicide happened some time shortly after.
